Essie....I Love Nail Polish!

Hey everyone!! Im back!! Sorry for the hiatus!
I promise this post will make up for it!

Essie Barefoot in Blue
&
I Love Nail Polish Once Upon a Starry Night

I recently came across a facebook page that posted a ton of cute nail pictures. Then I started to see that she was creating her own nail polish! At first, I was unsure if she was going to sell them, so I sat back and watched the beautiful creations. Then one day I was browsing on etsy and came across her store!!!!! I snatched some babies up so quickly, I think my keyboard was smelling like burnt rubber!

Here I have Once Upon A Starry Night from her latest winter collection. It is a combination of blue, silver, white, prism, and star glitters. GORGEOUS COMBINATION!!!

I have layered one coat, plus dabbing, of Once Upon A Starry Night, over three coats of Barefoot in Blue.

I Love Nail Polish is currently having a sale of 40% off! Head on over and tell Barbra I said HI!!!

PCOS Awareness Month

September is PCOS Awareness month. PCOS stands for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Nory over at Fierce Makeup and Nails asked if anyone would like to participate in doing a teal mani to show our support for PCOS Awareness month.
Most of you don't know that I was actually tested to see if I had PCOS about a year ago, thankfully I do not but it was very scary to think that it could be a possibility. So, of course this mani was right up my alley and I had to show my support.

This mani ended up turning out better than I had imagined! For each nail there is actually a meaning behind the design.

For the thumb I chose to do the teal ribbon by using some loose glitter I had. The thumb represents the ribbon and the support that this cause has.

For my index finger I have two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and I stamped using BM-201 with Butter London Slapper (the perfect teal might I add). My middle finger is the same colors but opposite. I chose this stamp because I know that PCOS can be a struggle for women and they may encounter quite a few bumpy roads that are forever changing.

My ring finger is a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and a loose glitter gradient of teal glitter. This represents how hopefully, the women with POCS, their symptoms can slowly fade.

My pinkie finger is a base of Butter London Slapper with a coat of Nicole by OPI Somebody Teal Love. This finger represents the light, or shimmer in this case, at the end of the battle against PCOS.

You can also check out Nory's post along with her personal story here!

31 Day Challenge 2012 & 30 Days of Untrieds

Last year a bunch of my blogger friends did the 31 Day Challenge where you follow a list of nail polish related things to do for 31 days on your nails. Well this year I am joining in along with them!!
Here is the challenge (31st day is different from the original) that Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails has created. The challenge starts tomorrow, September 1st for anyone wanting to join us!

I am also joining in with Polished Criminals to incorporate 30 Days of Untrieds. Some of you may remember this challenge that I started last year. I thought it would be cool to get some untrieds out of the way.

Will you be participating this year? I am going to try my BEST to keep up this year and finish it out til the end!

Disney movies, Disney princesses, Disney theme parks, Disney Junior, Disney Channel, etc...

I chose to do Disney as the theme for the nail art contest because Disney is one of my favorite creators when it comes to movies...and my daughter's. Plus, we are going to Disneyland soon and it is one of my favorite places on earth!

With any contest comes rules. The rules are:
1. The nail art picture you submit must be yours!
2. Nail Art can't be submitted if on a fake hand with fake nails

4. There is no limitation as to how many photos you can submit, but please make sure each submission is a different design

Be sure to check out my original post regarding the prizes!!! Go check out those goodies!!

Your nails are your canvas!! Be creative and let those creative juices flow onto your nails!! You can use anything on your nails that will translate to nail art. For example: acrylic paints, nail polish, stamping, beads, flocking, etc....

Indie Feature: Dollish Polish

Dollish Polish The Hero of Time

The Hero of Time is a polish created by Dolly in a Zelda Duo consisting of this one, The Hero of Time, and Hylian Princess.

The Hero of Time is a representation of Link, a hero in the game The Legend of Zelda: The Hero of Time.

The colors in this polish represent Link perfectly! Here is Link:

Now I'll show you the polish and let you decide if it's a great representation or not!

What do you think?
Now onto my swatch!
I decided to layer this polish over Icing Shimmer which is a gorgeous nude gold with gold shimmer. I thought it would compliment the gold/yellow glitter in the polish.

As you can see, the glitter consists of multiple shades of green glitter, brown, and yellow/gold.

Dollish Polish can be purchased through multiple online stores as well as through the Dollish Polish store. You can follow Dolly on Facebook as well to get shop updates!

I happened to purchase this polish through Overall Beauty's pre-sale a few weeks back. Overall Beauty shipped these super fast and they were packaged so well!! I will definitely be shopping from there again!
