Franken Feature: The Hungry Asian

The Hungry Asian: Sea Creature
The Hungry Asian is a blogger who makes some awesome frankens! I recently ordered a set of four custom nail polishes and Sea Creature was one of them!

Sea Creature is a gorgeous glitter nail polish! Sea Creature consists of mini black glitter, mini pink glitter, round holographic glitter, as well as larger green, teal, and blue glitter..pure gorgeousness!!! The more I stare at it, the more I see additional colors and surprises!

The formula on this was really great and quick drying. Is is a little bumpy, but nothing a top coat can't handle. This was only two to three coats to get full opacity.

Simply gorgeous AND stunning!
You can find these at The Hungry Asian etsy shop. The bottles are 12mL square bottles and cost $8.50 each. I really recommend Sneeze Breeze and Sea Creature!!

Franken Feature: Liquid Glitz

Tara over at Tough As Nails, Twice As Pretty creates some pretty awesome frankens! Her brand is called Liquid Glitz. I had been eyeing one of her collections for quite a while and finally asked her if they were available for purchase! She is super nice and kind and ended up offering them for me to review!

Collection: The Glitters
This collection is pure GLITTER! If you can't tell by now, glitter is my favorite, next to holographic of course.
The Glitters collection consists of 6 gorgeous glitters.
Raspberry Rap, Nebulus Rock, Blueberry Pop, Apple Jazz, Slate Fusion, and Mermaid's Hymn.

Raspberry Rap is a gorgeous pink based glitter with a hint of blue. Nebulus Rock is a black based mini glitter polish with larger holographic glitters as well as a hint of magenta glitter. Blueberry Pop is an electrifying blue and black glitter.

Apple Jazz is a great apple green glitter with a slight green base to it. Slate Fusion is a silver glitter with larger holographic glitter. Mermaid's Hymn is a combination of blue, turquoise, purple, pink, green, and holographic glitter.

I decided to do a skittle mani with the glitters. I am going to do a full mani with Mermaid's Hymn soon.

First is one coat of the glitters. One thing I have always loved about glitters is that they tend to dry fast.
 1 coat in the shade

1 coat

Next is two coats of the glitters.
2 coats shade

2 coats indoor light

Lastly, to reach semi-full opacity is three coats of the glitters.
3 coats indoor light

3 coats sunlight

3 coats sunlight

3 coats natural light

Macro shot of Nebulus Rock

What I really loved about this collection is the fact that you can either use it as a top coat, layer it with other colors, or use it for full on glitter mani's! The formula was really great on these and the glitter dispersed wonderfully.

Tara will be opening up her very own etsy shop soon, but for now if you are interested in these you can email her at:

Lynnderella Nosegay

Happy Valentine's Day!
To kick off Valentine's Day for you, I have the perfect Valentine nail polish for you!

Nosegay
Lynnderella Nosegay is part of the new Lynnderella collection, Lovely is as Lovely Does.
Nosegay is described by Lynn as a translucent pale violet base with lavender and purple multi-sized hexagons and squares, with blue-violet shimmer.
The term Nosegay means a small bunch of flowers, bouquet or posy.
Now, while all that sounds lovely, the color is just gorgeous, simply, and dainty on your nails!

Look at that closeup!! You can really see the shimmer it gives off!! I layered 2 coats of Nosegay over 3 coats of Nicole by OPI One Big Happy Fame-ily.

Wanna Be Butter London Knackered

So I was at ULTA and was looking at the new Butter London line. I was drawn to Knackered but something was telling me it looked similar to something else. So I picked up an Essence Colour and Go Where Is The Party and decided I would try to dupe Knackered.

I started with about half a bottle of Where Is The Party and slowly added China Glaze Fairy Dust. Once I got the right amount of holo glitter I added a clear top coat in it.

Here are my results. There are different swatches because I have that many different versions!

It definitely shows more of the purple and green duochrome in real life.

What do you think? Close enough to be a substitute for you?

Sinful Colors Cinderella

Cinderella
When I first heard that Sinful Colors named a color Cinderella, I knew the Disney freak in me had to have it, no matter what color! Then when I saw what it looked like, I knew I had to have it even more!!

None of the drugstores around me had it in stock so luckily a few of my readers offered to swap one with me!! Thank you Wendy & Elizabeth!

Cinderella is a gorgeous sheer baby blue with flecks of pink and gold shimmer! Its truly gorgeous!

Here is one coat of SC Cinderella, see how sheer it is!

This is four coats of SC Cinderella with no top coat.

This color is amazing and I really know nothing like it! Even though after four coats there is still a bit of VNL I don't mind. I do recommend an underwear coat of nail polish, such as white or grey.

UPDATE: It has been 4 days since I have put this on and after all the wear and tear it is still holding up!! Can you believe it? I don't even have a top coat on, I only used Seche Vite Base Coat and the SC!!

Mini Haul

So today I went on a little spree. I found some really neat and pretty colors!

Here is my Walgreens Haul. I found Essie Go Overboard and Play date from the newest Essie collection. I also found Sinful Colors Glass Pink.

This was from my ULTA. They had a huge clearance section but the only one I bought from it was the China Glaze Aqua Baby and the OPI White Shatter. I also picked up the cute little Essence Colour & Go in Glamourous Life, Where Is The Party, and Choose Me! The hand cream is hard as hoof and also doubles as a nail strengthening cream. This was recommended by the YouTube star PlasmaSpeedo!! Check her nails out!

I then went to a nearby Supply Store and found these. OPI Koala Bear-y and Essie Hot Commodity.

I also stopped by Sally's and picked up China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara and Some Like It Haute.

While at my ULTA I also found two Revlon Whimsical's!!!! These are up for sale/swap. If you are interested, please email me.

ICING Nameless Blue

I recently picked up a mini 4 pack of nameless baby blues from ICING. They had some really pretty green shimmer in all of them and looked way pretty!

Here is the light blue one swatched.
I did use two coats of China Glaze For Audrey as a base, then two coats of the ICING.

The wear on this mani lasted pretty long for me! It is definitely gorgeous, but if you have China Glaze For Audrey and Pure Ice Oh Baby! you can get a similar look. The shimmer particles in Oh Baby! are a little larger and less dainty and subtle.

Oh and I forgot to add, GO GIANTS!!

Dollar Tree Haul

Yesterday I had to go into the Dollar store to purchase some nail mail envelopes. I just so happened to be near the nail polish aisle!! How coincidental?! I saw that they put up some new Sally Hansen duo's so I wanted to look into them further.

I was able to find some pretty unique Sally Hansens that I have never seen before. I took a picture and sent it to my Sally Hansen guru Laurie and she told me to buy them for sure and that they were beauty in a bottle!

The three colors on the left came in a duo with the three on the right.
LtoR: Crystal Opal, Pale Pink Opal, Rose Gold Opal, Emerald City, Lime Lights, & Ocean View

I was googling swatches and found out that the best way to show the Opal's was to layer them over black.

Crystal Opal over black gives a green to dark purple duochrome effect, Pale Pink Opal over black gives a blue to purple duochrome effect, and Rose Gold Opal over black gives a green to dark purple duochrome effect as well.

On the swatch wheel the Crystal Opal and Rose Gold Opal really look similar over black. I am trying out other colors to see if I can get a different effect from each to really signify the two different colors.

Considering the package said that the duo's were normally a retail value of $7.99, I would say I scored by only paying $3 for all of them!
